CSCI44B Perl II

Course Description
This course is a continuation of CSCI44A, Perl I. In this course we will learn more advance features of Perl, Perl/CGI, Perl & databases (flat file and RDBM), and if time allows, Perl & XML. The exact material covered is subject to change depending on the programming experience of the students. Students can also request topics to cover in class.
Prerequisites
You should have taken and passed CSCI44A or an equivalent. If you have some Perl programming experience but haven't taken CSCI44A, consult with me before enrolling in the course.
Office Hours
I do not hold scheduled office hours. If you need assistance, we can meet during the regularly scheduled lab hours. If you need additional help, send me an email.
Attendance
Lecture attendance is mandatory. You will be graded on attendance. See the grading policy below. If you have to miss a class due to work or illness, let me know, in advance if possible. Laboratory attendance is optional.
Grading
The class grade is broken down as follows
- 25% - Attendance
- 50% - Homework
- 25% - Take-home final
The home assignments and final will be posted on the class web site. Follow all the instructions, especially the instruction telling you what to turn in, to the letter. Do not turn in your home work or final by email unless I tell you to. I won't grade it.
